Just a little about the butters we use and why.
Unrefined Shea Butter is highly moisturizing, rich in vitamins and minerals and has anti-inflammatory properties as well as anti-aging and antioxidants. You will see some pieces of the shea butter in the body butter but when you apply it to your skin they will melt in. Unrefined Shea butter is better for your skin as it is not stripped of those vitamins and minerals.
Cocoa Butter is a rich moisturizer that replenishes the skin’s natural barrier. It is loaded with fatty acids and minerals along with polyphenols and antioxidant. It absorbs nicely into the skin.
Mango Butter is a good fatty acid with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is incredibly high in vitamin C. It supports collagen production and prevents or corrects sun damage.
What is the difference between a balm and a salve.
A balm is firmer and often has a less oily feel to it. More beeswax is used to create the firm appearance.
A salve is softer and has less beeswax added to allow for easier application.
